Polymer Science

Polymer Science Courses in India have become one of the most sought after study programs because of its wide applicability. Polymer science is a dedicated field of chemistry dealing with plastic, molded material, and synthetic fibers. Often termed macromolecular science it is classified into polymer physics, polymer chemistry, and polymer characterization.

The emergence of polymer science as a specialized subject gained popularity after Second World War after the discovery of bakelite, Teflon and Kevlar. The widespread use of these materials in manufacturing electrical equipments, furniture, luggage, toys, and so on necessitated the setting up of specialized study courses of these materials. Plastic, the commonest of all polymer materials is among the greatest discoveries of the modern world.

Polymer science jobs are easily available since plastic or polymer in some form is used significantly by industries across all sectors. Apart from business houses and manufacturing setups polymers have substantial use in the domestic sector. Polymers are manufactured in form of granules, flakes, yarns, and fibers.
