Rubber Technology

Rubber Technology Courses in India are treated at par with other engineering study programs. Rubber technology is highly specialized and is a growing area of study among engineering students. Rubber as a material is very versatile and can be put to innumerable uses. Earlier there were no specialized courses in rubber technology in India. With the advent of new uses of rubber it has become necessary to create a new filed of study in rubber technology.

Careers in rubber technology have risen with more widespread use of rubber. Apart from vehicular tyres and tubes, rubber is being manufactured as rubber mating, clothing, crumbs, sheet, and molded rubber. Vulcanization is an important application of rubber. Rubber being a plant product and a material of universal use, its study has become particularly important. With mineral ores having limited availability, rubber has replaced them in many instances. As the demand for rubber products are rising, research and studies on this material has become more focused.
